River City Pageant LogoRequired Events & Scoring

River City Benefit Pageant Required Events  (ages 4+)

Formal Wear GownContestants ages 4 and up are required to compete and will be judged in the following categories:

Personal Introduction
On-Stage Question
Spokane Pride Theme Wear
Formal Wear
Donations

Don't be overwhelmed! Each event is really quite simple and short. Most events use X's or stickers marked on the stage to tell you where to go. You do not need to memorize your intro or answers to questions either. You may just improvise on stage if you like. Requirements for each event including what to wear and sample stage layouts can be found on their individual pages.

We will also be holding a Pageant Workshop on Friday evening to help you become familiar with the stage, learn helpful tips and even give you time to practice.

Pre-Teen Delivering Personal Introduction

Pageant Workshop

Don't worry if you have never competed in a pageant before or if this is your first time competing in a Benefit Pageant, we will be holding a Pageant Workshop after check-in where we will go over everything to expect and give you tips and tricks for competition.

We will be walking you through the "routines" that contestants will be using for each required event, where to go, when to pause, and the timing for each part of competition. Someone will demonstrate examples of each event so you can get ideas of what you would like to do. Each stage of the competition is fairly simple, there will be tape or stickers on the floor to follow, and open stage time for contestants to practice. Our plan is to try to have "Stage Managers" available both Friday and Saturday who can help contestants practice routines and give them tips.

Visit our Pageant Workshop page for more information.

Scoring

Judges will be looking for competitors who are confident on stage and seem excited about helping the benefit organization.  NOTE: Contestants ages 4 and up must be able to go out on stage alone.  Please:  No parents or other helpers!

Supreme Titles (ages 6+)

Here is where River City Pageant competition gets especially fun and different from other systems. In order to both recognize our top competitors and encourage our participants to raise more money for Spokane Parks Foundation, we give out bonus points for additional fundraising that are used to help boost competition scores for Supreme Titles. This is how we calculate our Supreme Title Winners:

1) Finalists: First, we calculate who the Top 10 contestants over the age of 6 are with the highest pageant scores before fundraising bonus points are added in.

2) Fundraising Bonus Points: Next, we calculate the bonus fundraising points that our Finalists earned and add them to their pageant scores. The way we calculate bonus fundraising points is to award any additional donation over the required $50 and/or swimsuits as follows:

Every $10 = 1 point
1 swimsuit = 1 point

3) Supreme Scores Tallied: After fundraising bonus points are added to our Top 10 Finalists' totals, the top 3 highest overall scores from that group will each win Supreme titles: Supreme, Grand Supreme and Ultimate Supreme.

NOTE: Although it is possible to be a top fundraiser and still not win a Supreme Title, it is highly unlikely that you will win a Supreme Title without doing fundraising above and beyond the minimum required amount.

Please visit our Donation Scoring page for compete details on how points are scored for each age division.

What if there's a tie?

Dogs fighting over ball If two contestants have the same score within the same division, we will use their donation totals to break the tie.

For example: Lilly and Makayla are both in the Pre-Teen Division and they both receive scores of 480. We look and see that Lilly has a bonus donation score of 60 and Makayla has an 80. Makayla will be crowned the new Pre-Teen Queen.

In the event that they also collected the same donation amounts, we will look to see who has the highest score in Personal Introduction. In the extraordinarily unlikely event there is still a tie, we will look at who had the highest On Stage Answer score.

Photogenic Baby
